Gwen Jordan, Coastal Artist
Gwen Jordan is an artist living in Emerald Isle. She paints mostly in acrylics and loves color.
She is originally from Durham and taught Decorative Art in the Durham area for 17 years, before changing to fine art. She loves painting beach themes, birds, animals (dogs), flowers and doing portraits. She is a member of the Arts Council of Carteret County. She has exhibited in many places such as Western Carteret Library, Carteret Healthcare in Morehead, the Morehead Convention Center, Pine Knoll Shores, Beaufort libraries and many more. From 2010-2012, she painted the artwork that is decorating the walls in the new medical buildings in the Raleigh-Durham area for Emerge Ortho. She has now resumed doing their artwork for the new medical building in Burlington. She has won Art from the Heart- Award of Excellence- three times. She also won Honorable Mention at Carolina Artist Gallery in Morehead and Lightspace Online Gallery for competitions. She is currently displaying art at Mattie King Gallery in Beaufort, Gray Dolphin in Swansboro and Salter Path Art Gallery in Salter Path. In addition to traditional painting, Gwen also welcomes the challenge of commissioned art projects to include murals, hand painted furniture, and an assortment of hand painted glassware. Art belongs on every surface possible. |
